Loupework is a small timer for designers. Made to stop you polishing the same frame for two hours when you should be sketching the next one.

    How Loupework works

A small timer for designers. Time-box exploration, refinement, and rest.

    The cycle

Your session plan. Click a glyph to change its kind — Focus, Block, Sketch, Break. Drag sideways to reorder, drag off the staff to remove. Drag a bar-line dot to retime. + adds a 5-minute stage.

    Running

Hit play. Loupework runs through the cycle. The playhead shows where you are in the active stage. To change a stage mid-run, press and hold it.

    Audio

Lofi, brown or pink noise, or a 40Hz binaural tone. Turn on "Pause on blur" if you want audio to mute when you switch tabs.

    Activity

Each completed stage is logged. The heatmap is the only thing in color — everything else stays out of the way.

    Loupework

A small timer for designers. Built because every existing focus app treated time as a single number on a stopwatch, and I wanted one that treated a session like a piece of music — a sequence of stages, paced on purpose.

Made by Ayo Omole, in roughly ten hours of pair-design with Claude — sketching the cycle, arguing about hierarchy, killing features, putting them back. The code is mine; the conversation made the design.
